I have been teaching Visual Basic in VS 2013 for years and now we are all using Visual Studio 2017.

My Year 12 classes are now experiencing issues when they open their VB Exercises that they have working on at home. The Designer view of their forms disappears. We are unable to edit the Full Path to the form elements.

I'm spinning my wheels with this. Can I be pointed in the right direction to a solution here - I've done a search through the forums and stackoverflow and have found things that touch on the issue but with no solution that has worked with our situation.

I would like to confirm:
(1) Which does disappear, Designer view itself or their Form?
(2) Does it occur on all of them?
(3) How is their environment at home?
i.e. Do they use VS 2017 and their project locally (all are at their home)?
Do they work via cloud? (VS 2017 and/or their project are in some server)?
(4) other than the above (whatever you recognize)
