It is possible that your application when built resembles a * horse program that Avast recognises: try building it for debug (if it is a release build) or release (if it is a debug build).
If this solves teh problem, then you may need to ad / remove / rename / move code to prevent the false recognition (and comment it well!).
If it doesn''t, then you may have a genuine virus / TH app on your system, and it is well worth doing a full scan anyway just to be sure. False positives do happen, but they are pretty rare.
