I am generating an Entity model using Entity framwork designer. The relationships between the entities cannot be created. My second problem is that whenI configure the EntityDatasource, The DefaultContainername pull downlist is empty. Will appreciate any suggestions

Does this problem only occur in single project or all your Visual Studio projects? Please try to reset the Visual Studio settings via Tools à Import and Export Settings… à Reset all settings.
