We are experiencing a strange issue with one of our SharePoint 2016 farms. Users are receiving a save conflict message on Excel files, and a save as prompt on Word documents after the document is worked on, or left open for over a coupe of hours before saved again. What seems strange is the user that's reported by Office to have caused the conflict is the same user that's trying to save the document! It seems to be creating a new session somehow. Anyone seen this problem before? I cannot replicate this on my PC. On this particular farm, we have 2 front end servers load balanced by a KEMP load balancer. Could the load balancer be causing this issue?

It looks like the Office Cache cause the issue. You can open "Office Upload Center" on user machine and see if the same same files are listed in the Office cache, then delete all cache files and try again. the user should able to edit and save the file.
